I have been slacking

Man with all the other social networks I tend to forget to write on my blog. If there were more interesting things going on in my life I would write it, but seeing that I am pretty much in the same place I was 6 months ago, I haven't written much. I went to St. George this last weekend, that was a lot of fun. It was way too short though. I am currently working on the research part of a book I am writing. I don't want to give away too much, but it is about trees and their significance in our lives, history, symbols, importance, etc. No, it isn't a tree hugger book, but I think it will be great. And even if I am the only one that reads it that is okay because how many people even write books? So there! Ha,ha :)

08 YPM Christmas Party

Hi Friends, Well we just had the 4 annual YPM Christmas Party and it was a huge success. We ate a ton of food: And in case you were wondering we had an ugly Christmas sweater competition:

We also hit the Christmas Pinata (it didn't last very long, but it was still way fun!) We also had a fun white elephant gift exchange! Yes, that's right, I got a blow up shark :) And we DANCED!!!

As you can tell we had so much fun. This is my favorite Christmas Party of the year!

On Top of the World

Today after church I decided to take a drive to one of the most beautiful look outs on the Wasatch Front. It is along the Mt. Nebo pass. Once I got there I realized I did not bring my camera, so I was a little bummed that I couldn't share this beauty with all of you. It isn't very often that I take the time to get away from all the noise and just listen to the wind in the trees and occasional chirping of a bird, and that's it. There is something so refreshing and invigorating about that. It was so nice to just relax and write my thoughts down. Unfortunately it was too cold to do this outside of my car (only 21 degrees), but it was still nice inside. It just made me even more grateful for the world we live in. I can't believe I turn 32 on Tuesday, I am getting to be pretty old :) You know, I think if we didn't keep track of age, we would all live a lot longer and not age as quickly. I still feel like I am in my early twenties-and probably act like it too :) I just absolutely love this time of year with the fall and Halloween, so much fun! Time flies, but the moments we live last forever! Love you all!

Gratitude

One of the major themes that I got out of conference was gratitude. I know gratitude is an important part of life that we much each participate in. I am far from perfect but I love and am grateful for the beauty that surrounds me. Beauty is in the simple chirping of a morning bird or in the song of the crickets in the evening. It is in the sunsets, stars, and clouds. Beauty is in the majestic mountains and in the rolling plains. We are so blessed to live right here, right now!
